👑 When Jesus Challenges You
📖 Matthew 2:3
“When King Herod heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.”
Matthew 2:3
Jesus changes people.
But not everyone is happy about it.
When the wise men asked about the newborn King, Herod was frightened.
Why?
Because he was afraid.
Afraid of losing his throne.
Afraid of giving up control.
Afraid of a King who was greater than he was.
Sometimes Herod is closer to us than we think.
We too like to decide for ourselves how to live our lives.
We say:
“I decide.”
“I know what is good for me.”
But Jesus does not come only as Savior.
He also comes as King.
And a king has the right to lead.
That can sometimes be challenging.
Because Jesus does not want only a small place in our lives.
He wants our whole heart.
So the question is not:
“Is Jesus King?”
He is.
The real question is:
“Is Jesus also my King?”
No one can make this decision for you.
It begins in your heart.
Today.

Is there an area of your life that you still want to control yourself instead of entrusting it to Jesus?
🙏 Prayer
Dear Dad,
thank you that Jesus is a good King.
Not one who causes fear, but one who loves.
Help me to entrust my life to Him and to follow Him even where it is difficult for me.
I want Jesus to be the King of my heart.
Amen.
